Developing the perfect braided main line for fishing with artificial lures borders on alchemy, requiring repeated refinement and precise testing to achieve the ideal result. And Westin is sure to have achieved this with the W6 Braid! The 8-plait braided line is manufactured using a special construction process and has been specially developed for spin fishing with artificial lures. Westin has used only the highest quality Japanese UHMPE fibers (Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene) in the construction of the 'W6 Braided Line' in order to meet the requirements for high knot and load-bearing strength with small diameters and a round profile. In order to also achieve greater abrasion resistance, the W6 braid is constructed with a fabric specially developed for this line, which is called "Advanced High PIC". The eight fibers of the braided line have a 36 PIC construction, which, compared to other lines, is remarkably strong for its diameter. In addition, the tight weave of "Advanced High PIC" ensures a smooth surface and optimum casting properties, even with the lightest lures. The overall casting performance is further improved by a Dura-Coating gel process. This gives the main line a smooth, hydrophobic surface, which reduces water absorption and greatly reduces friction. To achieve maximum color stability, the W6 is soaked in dye tanks before being cured in an oven to "bake" the pigments. Finally, it is sealed with a Dura layer for improved durability.
