Overall amazing prices and shiping times but my pacage arived preaty beat up and the packedging holding the soft baits was also really roughed up. I was planong on keaping the Packageing for easier transportortasion of lures but that is curently not posible.

On a hot summer weekend, you have made yourself comfortable in your fishing camp. To keep the fish you have caught fresh until you are ready to prepare them, you put them in a landing net. This is placed in the water and keeps the fish fresh and in the cool water while you continue fishing in peace. You can also keep your live bait in the water in bait stations. Keep fish fresh with landing nets & bait stations

Setting nets and bait stations are legally difficult, as the Animal Welfare Act does not generally permit them in Germany. However, tubular landing nets are permitted in some federal states if they meet certain conditions:

  • A minimum length of 3.50 to 4 meters
  • minimum diameter of 50 cm
  • Unknotted nylon net
  • Use on still waters
  • do not operate from a boat
  • the landing net must not become too full
  • Round scoop & comb scoop must not be together

For keeping target fish and baitfish: landing nets & bait stations

The method of keeping fish in a landing net is severely restricted to protect the fish. Nevertheless, in many places it makes sense to keep the caught fish in a large net until they are prepared. Make sure that the landing net is horizontal and parallel to the shoreline and that its entire length is under water. There are round and square landing nets, although the choice between the two is purely a matter of taste. Rubberized landing nets offer the fish even better protection against injury.

Wire landing nets are suitable for eel fishing or for holding and descaling herring. If you are pre-fishing baitfish to then hunt for large predatory fish, the bait stations are excellent. They keep the small fish alive until they are used on the hook. Tip: Before buying a landing net, find out from your fishing club whether its use is unproblematic in your federal state.
