The SLX DC XT is the top model in the extremely popular SLX series. Equipped with Shimano's most advanced I-DC5 Intelligent Digital Control drag system and a low-inertia MGL III spool, it maximizes casting performance with all lure sizes, including ultra-light finesse sizes. If you want to combine the immediacy of a baitcasting reel with the lightness and versatility of a spinning reel, the SLX DC XT should be at the top of your list. This technical masterpiece is perfect for casting a variety of lures and offers a hidden versatility that comes into its own especially with lighter lures. It enables effortless and precise casts that rival those of BFS (Bait Finesse System) reels. At the heart of the remarkable casting versatility is a combination of the low-inertia MGL III spool and the I-DC5 digital casting control. The spool is ultra-light and, when loaded with braided or lighter mono line, spins silky smooth and easy to maximize casting distance. But the real secret is the exclusive I-DC5 system. It allows you to adjust the casting drag for the line used and the size of the lure, from large to ultra-light fine (plus and extra frictionless) and provides fantastic, hassle-free, automatic casting control with just one twist. Inside the Hagane's aluminum body (with ultra-light CI4+ side plates) is a combination of Micro Module Gear and X-SHIP. This provides the unmistakable smoothness known from Shimano baitcasting reels and enough power to defeat even the biggest predators in freshwater. The easy-to-adjust star drag has Cross Carbon Drag Washers that ensure you never feel like you're losing control when it's time to apply extra pressure. From ultra-light finesse lures to medium sized swimbaits and crankbaits, the SLX DC XT is a true all-rounder for the serious predator angler.
