SHIMANO Aero X3 Bolo GT 7m to 25g

The extensive AERO X3 Bolo range includes fast action telescopic rods designed for both freshwater and saltwater float fishing. The full carbon HPC blanks are lightweight and responsive, allowing excellent control of the float at distance and fast hook-ups. Available in medium and extra heavy versions, the action of the tip is remarkably smooth and harmonizes perfectly with the rest of the blank, which shows its full strength during the fight. All models are equipped with lightweight Seaguide HLG guides, which improve the action of the rods. A lightweight Shimano reel seat provides additional weight reduction. The tip protector supplied enables safe transportation.

When using SHIMANO fishing rods and reels, it is essential to ensure the safety as well as the fishing experience of the user.

General safety information

Handle hooks with care: Always cover the fishing hooks or remove them from the rods for transport. Use corks or hook covers to avoid accidental injury.
Keep your distance: Fish at least 10 metres away from others to avoid accidents. Watch out for people behind you before casting.
Train beginners: Instruct children and beginners in the safe handling of rods and hooks to minimise risks. Safety distance: Always keep a distance of at least six metres from high-voltage power lines when carrying or using fishing rods.

Notes on safe use

Avoid high sticking: Do not bend your rod too much while you are drilling a fish, which is known as ‘high sticking’. Hold the rod at a maximum loading angle of 45 to 60 degrees to avoid breakage.
Aligning the rod for snags: If your lure snags, keep the rod pointed at the hook while walking backwards to reduce the strain on the rod.
Be careful with carbon fibre: Carbon fibre rods are strong but can be brittle. Avoid dropping them or banging them against hard surfaces as this can cause damage.
Safe transport: Always take your rod apart and place it in a protective cover during transport to prevent damage from external influences.
Carbon fibre rods conduct electricity. Do not use them during thunderstorms or near power lines.
Never try to pull bait or leaders out of trees or bushes by applying pressure to the rod and fishing line. This can result in the bait/lead being catapulted towards the angler. Use only your hands to free the bait/lead.
