The Aero Technium MgS continues to be the ultimate big pit reel. Unique and unrivaled in terms of casting performance, it is equipped with the latest and groundbreaking technologies from Shimano. The list of features is remarkable: every technology available from Shimano is used in the Aero Technium MgS. A Hagane body made of magnesium makes the reel incredibly light and extremely robust at the same time. Hagane Gear (cold forged) for maximum stability, Infinity Drive and Silent Drive for more cranking power, smooth running and durability. A very stable, one-piece titanium bail guides the line precisely to the line roller. The most remarkable feature is a 45mm spool with Super Slow 10 line lay system, which lays 107 line windings per spool stroke and takes casting distance and precision to the next level. The Rigid Cast technology ensures that the forces generated during violent casts at maximum distance can be controlled. In one sentence: The best long cast reel ever built.

When using SHIMANO fishing rods and reels, it is essential to ensure the safety as well as the fishing experience of the user.

General safety information

Handle hooks with care: Always cover the fishing hooks or remove them from the rods for transport. Use corks or hook covers to avoid accidental injury.
Keep your distance: Fish at least 10 metres away from others to avoid accidents. Watch out for people behind you before casting.
Train beginners: Instruct children and beginners in the safe handling of rods and hooks to minimise risks. Safety distance: Always keep a distance of at least six metres from high-voltage power lines when carrying or using fishing rods.

Notes on safe use

Avoid high sticking: Do not bend your rod too much while you are drilling a fish, which is known as ‘high sticking’. Hold the rod at a maximum loading angle of 45 to 60 degrees to avoid breakage.
Aligning the rod for snags: If your lure snags, keep the rod pointed at the hook while walking backwards to reduce the strain on the rod.
Be careful with carbon fibre: Carbon fibre rods are strong but can be brittle. Avoid dropping them or banging them against hard surfaces as this can cause damage.
Safe transport: Always take your rod apart and place it in a protective cover during transport to prevent damage from external influences.
Carbon fibre rods conduct electricity. Do not use them during thunderstorms or near power lines.
Never try to pull bait or leaders out of trees or bushes by applying pressure to the rod and fishing line. This can result in the bait/lead being catapulted towards the angler. Use only your hands to free the bait/lead.
