The Expride rod series exudes quality and with its numerous technologies is directly below the world-famous Poison Adrena. In terms of sensitivity and response, there is very little that can match the stunning Expride. Originally developed as bass rods, it's easy to see why Shimano is so enthusiastic about the Expride rods. If you are looking for a spinning or casting rod that meets the highest demands, you can stop looking now - the Expride rods leave nothing to be desired! Whether light, medium or large lures with the spinning or casting rod, the Expride range covers everything and shines with a sensitivity and feedback that hardly any other rod can match. Each model in the range is even available in two versions, as a one-piece rod with detachable handle and as a classic two-piece rod. You really are spoiled for choice. The outstanding sensitivity and response of the Expride blanks is the result of two exclusive Shimano technologies. The high modulus full carbon blanks are equipped with the Hi-Power X construction. This reduces blank twist when casting and during the fight and makes the blank extremely responsive. Added to this is the carbon monocoque handle, which transfers more information from the blank to the hand and provides an unprecedented insight into any contact between the lure and its environment under water. To further increase the sensitivity and overall performance of the rod, the Expride is equipped with Fuji SiC guides and a lightweight Shimano Ci4+ reel seat for spinning or baitcasting reels. And if you think it couldn't get any better, you've yet to enjoy the stunning design that results from the classic glossy black blank together with the front cork handle and carbon monocoque grip. One of the best rod designs ever seen. In action, the Expride is convincing all along the line. The 1+1-piece models have a blank with a one-piece main section that bends with a seamless fast action and is unsurpassed in its directness. The 2-piece models, on the other hand, are much easier to transport and their action is almost indistinguishable from the 1+1-piece models. Expride - one of the best rod series is now even better.

When using SHIMANO fishing rods and reels, it is essential to ensure the safety as well as the fishing experience of the user.

General safety information

Handle hooks with care: Always cover the fishing hooks or remove them from the rods for transport. Use corks or hook covers to avoid accidental injury.
Keep your distance: Fish at least 10 metres away from others to avoid accidents. Watch out for people behind you before casting.
Train beginners: Instruct children and beginners in the safe handling of rods and hooks to minimise risks. Safety distance: Always keep a distance of at least six metres from high-voltage power lines when carrying or using fishing rods.

Notes on safe use

Avoid high sticking: Do not bend your rod too much while you are drilling a fish, which is known as ‘high sticking’. Hold the rod at a maximum loading angle of 45 to 60 degrees to avoid breakage.
Aligning the rod for snags: If your lure snags, keep the rod pointed at the hook while walking backwards to reduce the strain on the rod.
Be careful with carbon fibre: Carbon fibre rods are strong but can be brittle. Avoid dropping them or banging them against hard surfaces as this can cause damage.
Safe transport: Always take your rod apart and place it in a protective cover during transport to prevent damage from external influences.
Carbon fibre rods conduct electricity. Do not use them during thunderstorms or near power lines.
Never try to pull bait or leaders out of trees or bushes by applying pressure to the rod and fishing line. This can result in the bait/lead being catapulted towards the angler. Use only your hands to free the bait/lead.
