Choosing the right coarse fishing line

You need the right equipment for coarse fishing. Starting with the right coarse fishing rod, through to the right fishing line and a coarse fishing rod. Monofilament line is ideal for coarse fish, as it is highly elastic and does not tear so quickly. If a fish is interested in the bait, a line that is as thin and stretchy as possible helps to make the game of bait as natural as possible. As soon as the fish notices that the fish cannot be nudged normally, it becomes skeptical and may well smudge the fish.

As coarse fish vary greatly in size and weight, select the diameter of the line according to the type of fish. The following peaceful fish line diameters are suitable:

Carp: 0.30 -0.40 mm

Cod, eel, burbot, barbel: 0.28-0.35 mm

Trout, bream, crucian carp: 0.20-0.25 mm

Döbel, brown trout. Perch: 0.18-0.22 mm

Rudd, gill, nase, rudd: 0.12-0.16 mm

The color of the coarse fishing line is important

The color of the coarse fishing line is also crucial. For coarse fish, the line should be as transparent as possible, as the fish look at their prey from the bottom up. A dark line would create a strong contrast and could scare them off. A dark line is better for bottom fishing for fish in the lower part of the water, as it sinks better visually against the vegetation.
