Types of bite alarms

Modern bite indicators are the alternative to classic float fishing, where the bite is primarily perceived through visual contact. Bite indicators have become an indispensable aid for bottom fishing in particular

Basically, we differentiate between three important types of bite alarms: the alarm bell, the glow stick and the electronic bite alarm.

The eel bell is used as an acoustic bite indicator, which is attached to the tip of the rod by means of a bell and indicates the slightest contact with the rod. A major advantage is that you can use the eel bell both during the day and at night. However, you should not fall asleep, as the ringing is rather quiet and can also be heard at a greater distance.

The buckling light bite indicator is attached to the rod tip in a similar way to the eel bell and indicates the bite using the light contained in the buckling light. With this type of bite indicator, however, you must not lose sight of the rod tip, otherwise you may miss a big catch.

The electronic bite indicator offers the most sleep-safe type of bite indicator. This bite indicator gives you both a visual signal and a loud acoustic signal in the event of a bite. The main line is fed directly through the bite indicator and gives a loud signal when the line is pulled out. The volume can be gradually adjusted on many models and should also wake you up from the deepest sleep phase. The biggest advantage of the electronic bite indicator is that you can fully devote yourself to nature or an interesting book without missing a fish contact.
