The dancing zocker

Pirkers are artificial lures made of metal, which are modeled on the simplified shape of a fish, similar to pirks, only smaller. Gamblers show their strength especially when vertical fishing at depths of five to twenty meters. Due to its compact shape, the artificial lure sinks quickly into water areas where there are many predatory fish. As a rule, gamblers are no longer than ten centimetres and are excellently suited to fishing for predators; for pike, zander, perch and trout.

Gambling with gamblers

The vertical fishing method can be used particularly successfully from an anchored boat. After releasing the artificial bait into the water, encourage the predatory fish to take the final bite with slight twitching movements. To do this, let the lure sink to the bottom and jerk it back up to one meter of line. Change the intensity and try to imitate different movements. This will fool the target fish into thinking it is a fast-moving prey fish. This type of fishing is one of the most promising and successful fishing methods.

The best time

The best time to fish with the Zocker is in the warm seasons, especially in summer. Especially in the evening, when the water slowly cools down and the predatory fish become more active, it is really worth gambling. But you can also try your luck in the fall, preferably at lunchtime.

The equipment

In order to be able to follow the movement of the lure intensively, it is best to fish with a thin braided main line. For the leader, choose a monofilament line, which is harder for predatory fish to see and also gives you some stretch when a large fish comes along. Choose a rod length of 1.80 to 2.10 meters that will not hinder you, especially when fishing from a boat. Suitable reels include stationary reels, multi-reels and baitcasters.
