The Catana FX rods combine exceptional value and modern design. The range includes rods with fast action and moderate-fast action in a variety of different designs. If you are looking for a price-performance champion that improves performance on the water, the Catana FX is a good choice. Based on a full carbon blank, this rod series attracts attention with its modern look. The fast action versions are designed for jigging with softbaits, while the moderate-fast action models are perfect for fishing with powerful lures such as crankbaits and chatterbaits. No matter which rod you choose from the extensive range, maximum performance is guaranteed in any case. The full carbon blank of the Catana FX is refined with the Geofiber construction, which provides additional power. This is a particular advantage with the lighter models, especially when strong fighting fish push the rod to the limit during the fight. All models are equipped with Shimano Hardlite guides, which are light, strong and perfect for monofilament and braided main lines. To optimize the overall performance and complement the modern look, an ergonomic VSS reel seat fits perfectly to the blank. There are 8 models with Fast Action, which are perfect for animating softbaits on jigs and transferring hand movements to the bait with maximum efficiency. These are equipped with a modern cork/EVA combination handle. The range also includes 20 models with moderate-fast action. These are versatile, but are particularly suitable for fishing with crankbaits and chatterbaits. Equipped with a cork handle, they boast exceptional drill performance to tame even the biggest and strongest fish. When using SHIMANO fishing rods and reels, it is essential to ensure the safety as well as the fishing experience of the user.

General safety information

Handle hooks with care: Always cover the fishing hooks or remove them from the rods for transport. Use corks or hook covers to avoid accidental injury.
Keep your distance: Fish at least 10 metres away from others to avoid accidents. Watch out for people behind you before casting.
Train beginners: Instruct children and beginners in the safe handling of rods and hooks to minimise risks. Safety distance: Always keep a distance of at least six metres from high-voltage power lines when carrying or using fishing rods.

Notes on safe use

Avoid high sticking: Do not bend your rod too much while you are drilling a fish, which is known as ‘high sticking’. Hold the rod at a maximum loading angle of 45 to 60 degrees to avoid breakage.
Aligning the rod for snags: If your lure snags, keep the rod pointed at the hook while walking backwards to reduce the strain on the rod.
Be careful with carbon fibre: Carbon fibre rods are strong but can be brittle. Avoid dropping them or banging them against hard surfaces as this can cause damage.
Safe transport: Always take your rod apart and place it in a protective cover during transport to prevent damage from external influences.
Carbon fibre rods conduct electricity. Do not use them during thunderstorms or near power lines.
Never try to pull bait or leaders out of trees or bushes by applying pressure to the rod and fishing line. This can result in the bait/lead being catapulted towards the angler. Use only your hands to free the bait/lead.
