The Bantam is a low profile baitcaster with a super-serious attitude. The Coresolid body is made of ultra-strong aluminum and is characterized by maximum robustness. The Bantam combines this feeling, which is otherwise only conveyed by round profile reels, with ergonomic low profile handling. Anyone who is involved in baitcasting will almost inevitably have come across the name Bantam. The Bantam has been around for around 40 years and has a large following among spinning anglers who value sober and solid performance. The reel looks clean and robust and can be combined with any Shimano rod from the medium to high-priced segment and fits perfectly in the hand, so that it can also be "palmed" very nicely. It is extremely easy to cast, but its real trademark is its uncompromising ability to catch big fish. The current version of the Bantam benefits from a lightweight MGL III spool and an SVS Infinity drag system, which has been upgraded with the Silent Tune and Super Free Spool concepts. You can cast lures of all weights stress-free with it and react to lure changes and changing weather conditions simply by operating the external wheel to regulate the drag force. However, the Bantam shows its greatest strengths when cranking and during the fight. The combination of Micromudule gearing and Infinity Drive delivers super-smooth directness - even when cranking extremely fast. Together with the robustness of the Coresolid housing, this enables cranking power that is immediately transferred to the fish via the crank as soon as the hot dance begins. And don't worry! Even in extreme situations, the lack of stretch in braided lines is absorbed by the Cross Carbon drag, which starts up extremely easily and runs down sustainably.
