Imagine you are walking along a clear mountain river, the sun is reflected on the surface of the water and mosquitoes are dancing through the air. With your polarization glasses, you catch sight of a large trout standing on a large rock in the water. Now you only need one thing: the right rod and equipment to go after the fish.

The trout rod

When choosing your trout rod, you should think about the right length in advance. You can usually go fishing with peace of mind with a rod length of 2.40 to 3.50 meters. With these rod lengths, you can both cast far and fish comfortably close to the shore. But rods around 2.00 meters are also excellent for hunting trout.

The casting weight of the trout rod depends on the weight and the fishing technique used, including the bait. Trout are usually fished for with artificial lures in the form of spoons and wobblers, as well as with natural lures such as maggots and worms.

The casting weight should be between 15 and 35 grams, depending on the requirements.

The rod action of the trout rod is with tip action. This enables a wide and accurate cast, as well as precise casting. Rods with a tip action are heavily tapered (fast taper) and the power of the angling fish is transferred directly to the angler's hand. The result is a very fine and direct bite detection.

The secure grip
