Properties of the monofilament line

Monofilament lines are usually made of synthetic materials such as nylon. Nylon is often used in the fishing sector for both clothing and fishing bags. Like these, the monofilament line is very strong and does not absorb water, which is why you can also use the line in winter and when ice fishing without it freezing like a braided line.

In addition, the lines are very robust and abrasion-resistant, which is why you can rely on their long service life. It is also very stretchy due to its design, which means that it does not tear immediately, even during a hard fight with jerky movements, and you have a better chance of landing the fish successfully. However, bear in mind that when spinning, the contact with the body is not as good as with stiff lines due to the stretch.

Variety of monofilament lines

The monofilament lines are available in a wide variety of colors. Choose them according to the depth of use. For surface fishing, we recommend lines with a lighter color to make them easier to see. If you are fishing in deeper waters, you should opt for dark and plain lines, as these light-colored lines are very conspicuous at depth and may deter shy fish.

Depending on the target fish, a sufficient load capacity must be selected. However, you should always set this slightly higher for safety reasons, as you never know exactly how heavy the fish you are fishing for will be.
