Braided Line

Braided Line

Items 1 - 28 of 28

Braided line is the strong alternative to monofilament line. This stable and robust fishing line has established itself very strongly over the last 20 years and is very popular with many anglers worldwide. It owes its name to the fact that several fibers of very fine nylon, such as Dyneema, Spectra or Kevlar, are braided together. This is why they are also known as polyfile fishing lines.

Braided line is strong, strong, durable & yet extremely thin

Braided fishing line has a significantly better breaking strain and tensile strength compared to monofilament line. Nevertheless, the diameter is small, which makes the line inconspicuous to fish. Even lines with a diameter of 0.1 millimetres are strong. The braiding makes the fishing lines much more stable and less stretchy. When fishing, you will therefore immediately notice when a fish is on the hook . This makes it ideal for spin fishing, where contact is important. It also gives you a better feel for the bite when fishing at long distances.

For spin fishing, bottom fishing & pilking

Braided fishing line is particularly suitable for spinning fishing. Due to its insensitivity to salt water, it is also well suited to sea fishing. Even though this type of fishing line can carry more than monofilament line of the same thickness, you should adjust the breaking strain to suit your target fish. Nothing is more annoying than a big fish on the hook and a broken line.

An overview of target fish and the recommended diameter of the braided line:

  • Perch, damsel, trout: 0.10-0.12 mm
  • Trout, crucian carp: 0.10-0.12 mm
  • Pikeperch, asp: 0.12-0.16 mm
  • Carp: 0.15-0.20 mm
  • Pike, cod, chum, pollack, mackerel: 0.16-0.22 mm
  • Large cod, largemouth bass, redfish, lumpfish, ling: 0.22-0.30 mm
  • Catfish: 0.30-0.50 mm

Longevity of the braided line

Because of their nature, braided lines rot less and are resistant to UV light. This ensures a longer service life than other lines. However, as braided cords can absorb some water and swell, they can freeze in winter. To prevent this, some cords are impregnated with a protective layer to repel the water. This also reduces the surface area and reduces rolling resistance.
