Spoons & metal jigs – shiny sea lures

For spin fishing on the coast, spoons are the classic sea lures. They are usually made of metal. This surface emits a wide variety of light reflections, which trigger optical bite stimuli on the target fish. Due to their effectiveness, these sea lures are very common and popular worldwide.

New variants of the spoon have a small battery-operated LED that constantly emits light signals. These are said to have a high success rate as they strongly encourage the fish to bite. With these marine lures, however, you should make sure that the LED reel is particularly stable, as it has to withstand several bites from strong marine fish, but also keep the salt water away from the sensitive electronics.

Metal jigs fulfill a similar function. They come in a wide range of bright colors to attract fish as well. As sea lures, they are perfect for vertical fishing, as you can reach relevant diving depths with the metal jigs, especially in winter, in order to fish for cod with a higher chance of success.

Soft shads as sea bait

Sea lures in the form of soft shads come in different shapes and sizes. Shore plugs are suitable for fishing on the shore. However, as these usually do not have a diving blade in comparison to trolling lures, it is up to you to breathe life into the lure through artful spinning. They are usually made of rubber, but are equipped with hard heads to be used more frequently. Some have a device for attaching extra stingers.
